Pastor Darienne Gagne, M.Div.

We are modern Christians who engage the world we live in rather than being stuck in nostalgia. Our members hold a diversity of opinions and worship together in mutual respect and understanding. Our views are informed by science and shaped by our personal experiences. We are a church of farmers, business people, retires, academicians, service industry workers, students, social service workers, unemployed people, sales people, volunteers and more. People from all walks of life worship and work alongside one another to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.

Two things we all agree on and are committed to as a community are the love of God and the love of our neighbors. We believe first God loved us and in response to that love, we follow the way of Jesus who tells us that we were made to live in peace and with respect for one another. As a community, we have made a public commitment to welcome all people into the full life of the church. Any human person with a commitment to Jesus Christ is eligible for membership in our community.

The North Chatham United Methodist Church is full of people committed to doing good in the world around us. Talk to the person in the pew next to you, and you’ll likely be sitting next to someone who has volunteered for cleanup after a natural disaster, stocked shelves in one of our local food pantries, or delivered a warm meal to a grieving neighbor. The people you’ll find here are dedicated to showing thanks for God’s goodness in their own lives by loving the world around them.

If you are looking for a church where your children will be cherished, your family will be welcomed, and your questions taken seriously, The North Chatham United Methodist Church is that place. There is a great deal of love and compassion here. We are eager to share it with you and your family, no matter if your family is you and three children, you and your partner, or you and your goldfish.

If you’re curious, come. Just come. See what we are all about.  Join us any Sunday morning for worship or come to one of our community events. Consider this your gold-embossed, formal invitation.

In addition to serving as (half-time) pastor at the North Chatham United Methodist Church, Darienne Gagne is employed by The Community Hospice (www.communityhospice.org) serving children who have lost someone and the people who love them. Pastor Darienne’s professional interests are grief work, pastoral care and counseling, especially around trauma and sexualized violence and religious pluralism.
